Key Laboratory of Soil Ecology, Hebei Province, was founded in 2018 by the Science and Technology Department of Hebei Province. The laboratory’s mission is to provide an international open research and development platform for Hebei Province, to enhance Hebei Province’s scientific and technological innovation capabilities, to provide theoretical for agricultural green development, to provide technical approaches for the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.

Major research fields:

(1) Soil ecological process and interface regulation mechanism:

• Nutrient metabolism of root-soil-microbe interface process
• Interaction mechanism of aboveground and subsurface trophic levels
• N, P and C fluxes at the interface of soil critical zones

(2) Soil pollution process and control remediation mechanism:

• Prevention and control of non-point source pollution of N and P in farmland
• Soil heavy metals and new pollution remediation

(3) Soil ecological regulation and ecological engineering:

• Ecological project of saline-alkali soil improvement
• Ecological restoration project of degraded forest and grass soil
• Demonstration project of wetland ecological environment protection
• Ecological engineering of intensive green soil fertilizer cultivation
