Center for Genome Biology, Institute of Genomic and Developmental Biology Chinese Academy of Sciences was established on the base of the Center for Plant Gene Research in 2009. The mission of the Center is to develop and apply genomic tools to understand how plant growth and development are regulated.

The Center currently has 23 principle investigators, 23 research groups and dozens of technical and administrative supporting staff, with 2 being elected as Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 9 being elected as Outstanding Young Scientist by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The Center has been built 4 platforms to support large-scale scientific research, including molecular biology platform, cell biology platform, metabolomics platform and scientific data platform. Scientists in the Center have made important advances in multiple fronts, including gene function studies, plant genomic studies, plant hormone biology, plant health, plant biotechnology and molecular breeding during past five years.
