Professor Ko Shimamoto from Nara Institute of Science and Technology Visited IGDB

Professor Dr. Ko Shimamoto, Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan, visited IGDB on Mar 8 and 9. As an invited speaker of the Forum on Plant Genomics and New Green Revolution, he gave a lecture entitled “Florigen function revealed by the protein complex FAC and more”. Then Dr. Shimamoto had an official discussion on further collaboration between NAIST and IGDB with Director XUE Yongbiao and scientists from the institute. Both sides appreciate very much the Global COE program that provided opportunities for over 50 IGDB students to visit Japan. The program is being supported by Japanese government for another term. Several possible collaborative models between NAIST and IGDB were also discussed during the visit.
