The CAS-JIC Centre of Excellence for Plant and Microbial Science (CEPAMS) virtual meeting on April 26-28th was a great success this year in 2023!
CEPAMS was jointly established by the John Innes Centre (JIC) and two institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS): Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology (IGDB) and CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Science(CEMPS)/Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology (SIPPE). CEPAMS is the first joint research center of CAS focusing on the studies of crop improvement and natural products, and also is the most advanced partnership between China and the UK of its kind.
This 2023 annual meeting promoted JIC/TSL and CEPAMS scientists to know each other and discussed areas of synergy. We believe the meeting already had positive effect in increasing interactions between JIC faculty and CEPAMS group leaders.
Each day was begun with a fantastic keynote lecture. And the group leaders were elaborately arranged into four group according to their research areas. This meeting supplied a platform for discussion and communication. And we came fruitful outcomes.
