The IGDB International Students Workshop 2024 was held in Beijing from October 20th to October 26th. The event brought together nearly 70 scientists and graduate students from Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) in Japan, University of California-Davis (UC Davis) in the USA, and the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology (IGDB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to delve into the cutting-edge science of genetics and development.
Six professors and four graduate students delivered outstanding presentations during the workshop. A total of 58 students attended the workshop and engaged in in-depth exchanges on the latest research achievements in the fields of genetics and developmental biology. They also actively communicated during the poster sessions and group discussions.
Particularly in the Group Project session, graduates strikingly interpreted the combination of science and art through diverse forms such as drama and dance. Representatives from the USA and Japan also experienced the rich history and profound culture by visiting the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. They earnestly look forward to more opportunities for cooperation and exchange in the future.
Since its first event in 2007, this is the 18th International Student workshop among NAIST, UC Davis, and IGDB, and it is the third time it has been held in China.
LIN Xiao, Vice President of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and XING Xuerong, Deputy Director of IGDB, attended the opening ceremony and delivered inspiring speeches.
