      Researchers led by Dr. WANG Lei and WANG Bing from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences revealed that the non-transcriptional activity of SMAX1 and SMXL2 mediates the karrikin (KAR) signaling and red light response in Arabidopsis.

      Genetic Editing of Ideal Small Grain Size Genes Enables Fully Mechanized Hybrid Rice Breeding

      Prof. LI Yunhai from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology (IGDB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Prof. ZHU Xudong from the China National Rice Research Institute have identified an ideal small grain size gene, GSE3, which can be used in fully mechanized hybrid seed production and to increase seed number.
