Researchers Reveal a Mechanism Involving Two Partners in a Complex to Regulate Genes for Salt Tolerance
Prof. CHEN Shouyi’s group and Prof. ZHANG Jinsong’s group, both from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently identified a special PHD-finger protein, GmPHD6, from soybean and built a model of the GmPHD6/LHP1 complex to regulate genes for salt tolerance.

Regulation of mRNA Level by Synonymous Codon Usage
Researchers from QIAN Wenfeng’s Lab at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, measured the mRNA levels for thousands of synonymous variants of two genes, and surprisingly, found that codon usage bias and mRNA level are highly correlated (in the absence of natural selection).
