A delegation of Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute and Life TechnologiesTM, headed by Dr. John Reed, the CEO of the institute, visited IGDB in the morning of August 19. Dr. Weicai Yang, the Deputy Director, hosted their visit. Drs. Wei Li, Jianwu Dai, Chonglin Yang of the Center for Developmental Biology and Dr. Jingdong Han of the Center for Molecular Systems Biology, attended the meeting. Both parties discussed the potential opportunity for future collaboration. 

Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute (SB-MRI) is a leading biomedical research institute in USA, with over one-thousand employees and operations in San Diego and Santa Barbara, California, and in Orlando, Florida. SB-MRI uses a unique, collaborative approach to medical research and has established major research programs in cancer, neurodegeneration, diabetes, infectious and inflammatory and childhood diseases. Also the Institute is known for its world-class capabilities in stem cell research and drug discovery technologies. Collaboration with SB-MRI would strengthen these researches in IGDB.
