Prof Dame Kay Davies, FRS, Director of MRC Functional Genomics Unit (FGU), Head of Department, Physiology Anatomy and Genetics of University of Oxford and Editor-in-Chief of Human Molecular Genetics, visited IGDB in the morning of June 14. Dr. ZHANG Yongqing, the Deputy Director, hosted their visit. Scientists from the Center for Developmental Biology and the Center for Molecular Systems Biology of the institute attended the discussion on academic exchanges. Potential collaborations in the future between FGU and IGDB are discussed in detail.

The FGU is a leader in the functional analysis of genomic information and applying it to neurological diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy, motor neuron disease, intellectual disability and schizophrenia. FGU is embedded within the department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics and collaborates widely across the Medical Division of the University of Oxford.
